Recently Emily turned to me and said, 'We should invite people over for real dinners, where you cook a Homestead. meal! Like a mini at home pop-up.' And yet another one of her great ideas got the gears turning.
We sat down and talked it through. How it would work? How many people at a time? Where would we eat? The idea started to come together, become not only feasible but a really fun idea that will be an experience for all!
So here's what we came up with:
We would like to host small, super casual 3 course pop up hangouts. Can't even call it a dinner! I'll prepare an appitizer, entree, & a dessert. Either off the Homestead. concept menu or research for a future dish, we'll all have fun and enjoy a good meal as family. Just like family, we'll all pitch in in some way. I'm doing all the cooking, we just ask that everyone pitches in for ingredients, thats it! Simple as that. We want to present the best experience we can and offer something different then you're every day dinner!
We were thinking capping the dinners at 4-6 people, we don't have a huge amount of space, but enough for that many to be more then comfortable! That's what we're looking for after all right? An opportunity to slow down, relax, and 'Eat With Family'. We'll hang out, enjoy a meal, share a few good drinks, and hopefully some better stories!
